In China, where the virus originated, Wanda Cinemas reopened all of its locations in the country on February 13, more than a month after initially shutting down due to the outbreak.
Australia’s biggest theater chain Hoyts also reopened its doors on February 13 across the country. However, most major releases were postponed due to lack of supply.
Cinemark, which has locations in 30 countries, reopened select cinemas in Brazil and Chile on March 13. The company plans to reopen additional theaters “in coming weeks” as restrictions are lifted and new films are released.
