The Plot

When Jane Porter is rescued from a leopard attack by the handsome Tarzan, she ‘s instantly smitten. But Jane gets more than she bargained for when she discovers that Tarzan is actually Lord Greystoke, heir to a English estate. Can Jane convince Tarzan to leave his home in the jungle and lead a civilized life in London?

The Characters

The movie focuses on a group of young people who spend a week in paradise. The main character, played by actor James Franco, is a rich and spoiled young man who has never had to work for anything in his life. He is used to getting whatever he wants and he doesn’t know how to deal with problems or setbacks. He is joined by his equally spoiled girlfriend, played by actress Emma Roberts.

The other characters in the movie are a group of friends who have been close since childhood. They are all from different backgrounds, but they have one thing in common – they all want to get away from their everyday lives and have some fun. One of the group is an aspiring rapper, one is a party animal, one is a wannabe model, and one is a confirmed bachelor. From hiking to Diamond Head to watching the sun set at Waikiki Beach, Rachel and Kai explore all that Oahu has to offer – and slowly begin to fall for each other.

Next, Rachel and Kai travel to Maui, where they spend a day horseback riding through lush green valleys and enjoying a romantic dinner overlooking the ocean. It’s on Maui that Rachel finally begins to relax and let go of her work-related stressors – but when a surprise business opportunity arises, she’s tempted to put her vacation – and her budding relationship with Kai – on hold.

After a heart-to-heart discussion, Rachel and Kai decide to extend their trip and travel to Kauai, where they explore the stunning Napali Coastline and take a helicopter ride over Waimea Canyon. It’s here that Rachel finally realizes that she wants to be with Kai – but not before one last stop on their trip: Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island.

A Week in Paradise ends with Rachel and Kai watching as lava flows into the sea – a fitting end to their whirlwind weeklong vacation (and relationship). Hawaii might just be paradise after all.

The Filming

As the week progresses, Mia and John find themselves drawn into the hedonistic activities of their fellow guests. They soon discover that there is more to this island than meets the eye, and that not everyone is who they seem to be.
